Hospital Ventilation Project – From Design to Implementation

The comprehensive ventilation project covering the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors of Nişantaşı Hospital was successfully realized as a full-cycle project through the phases of architectural drawing analysis, airflow calculation, duct-route design and installation. Each floor's distinct medical function — outpatient clinic, surgical preparation, patient room — brought with it different air-class and air-change-rate requirements.

In the duct design, functional criteria such as static-pressure balancing, a low noise level and easily accessible cleaning hatches were taken into account. The complementary fan-coil units and air handling units were positioned in line with the architectural requirements; fire dampers and exhaust connections were integrated with the building automation system.

In hospital ventilation projects, compliance with standards, precision of implementation and long-term ease of maintenance are the three fundamental criteria that determine the true value of the project. In this project, all three were fully met.

Comprehensive maintenance and repair of the facility's chillers, refrigerant (freon) gas charging and condenser cleaning were carried out. To increase energy efficiency and expand capacity, the sale of new devices was also provided. With the periodic maintenance program initiated after the project's completion, the hospital's climate-control infrastructure continues to be kept at current standards.
